your fav napolionic unit ?
what is you fav napolionic unit i have a few and il put mine in when you guys have got the thread going but a few ideas the 95th for is bravado the conault rangers ? the illiskilling the imortals ? could it be a hussar regiment because of the uniform ulans with there lancers dosent matter which country there from what is your fav unit ? and why

Hussar Regiment No.2 (Von Rudorff) in 1806, aka Leib Hussars. Coolest uniform ever. I've got 60 of the blighters, and in numerous outings over the last three years I have yet to even draw a melee with them. Bluttered every time, to the extent than my opponents will seek them out with Conscript Infantry in line or Cossacks :sad: Mind you I haven't done much better with H.R. No.8 (Blucher) or H.R.No.4 (Wurttemburg) or D.R.No.1 (Koenig von Bavaria) or....or.....or..... :?

Limiting it to one unit is tough, but here goes. First absolutely has to be the KGL 2nd LI, followed right behind by the 1st (two of my prized buttons are an officers KGL button and an enlisted 1st KGL LI button). But then I like all Hanoverian troops, the Napoleon Hussars, the French Revolutionary Deaths Head Hussars, the Austrian LI, 1st Coalition French Heavy Cav and Austrian Cuirassiers, the French 9th Hussars, the Brunswickers, the Prince's Battalion in Spain, Gage's LI, Morgan's Riflemen, Mesoamerican Jaguar Warriors ..... Loyal Lucitanian Legion Cacadores. Wonderfull men. And despite the continuous digs, the Portuguese did pretty damned well at the Salamanca game. They deserve a round of applause, I reckon! :-o

My favourite is the 3rd Regiment of the Grenadiers of the old Guard-The Dutch Grenadiers I just love the uniform

Heh, the Portugese did actually do well in the game, even though most were 2nd Class Line. I think one Btn took out 2 or 3 French. Which was nice. Coolest uniform..hard to say really..I do like some of the Rhine units though.

French Hussars, just gotta be! Any unit looking that flashy is really worth a mention! Not sure about their combat record but who cares when it comes to painting them right? :smile: :smile: :smile: :smile: balls

Hate to be dull and predictable, but I can't get past the 95th. Been sitting looking through books here, and there's plenty of choices, but it always comes down to: Fine regiment? Yes.... Better than the Rifles? .....Naaaah. (and yes... tea and medals all round for those over-acheiving Portugese! And the Chasseurs Britannique!)
