Has anyone tried the new Father Tilly rules? I have ordered them and they read very well and there are seperate downloads for the different armies and eras for the war. I was just curious if they played well before I take the plunge and purchase figures.
I am debating between 15mm and 28mm. There seems to be more for the 15mm on the 30 yrs war than in 28mm also since the game uses 100's of figures 15mm might be easier on the wallet. But on the other hand a unit of 28mm pike and shot with 60 figures has to look very cool on the table. |

HAve not played these yet but agree they read well and basic systems seem simple and clever.
I am going with 25mm figures as in my view it's the prettiest and renaissance gaming is all about getting beautiful figures out on the table. Ianm partly solving the cost problem by using Warlord Games plastic ECW Covenanter figures for the Swedes. These come with the same 40 figures as the Cavaliers and Roundheads plus 4 lead command figures and spare berets so you can make Scots.
For the Catholic League and PoloshArmies I am using the Assault Group Range. |
