Hey all,
First post on these forums! I've done 15mm ACW for a few years now and this summer started my 28mm project with a couple of Perry's plastic boxsets. These still need a quick matte spray, they are a little shiny! And they need flags, but other then that they are done. Any feedback would be welcome and apreciated. I took a little liberty with these, I wanted them to really pop and so I tried to use some brighter colors- which is especially evident on the Union Regiment's pants color.. I will probably darken them up on the Regiments following. Anyways, on to the pictures!
First up, the Union Regiment-

The other stands-
And then the Confederate Regiment-

I really enjoyed painting these, and what started as a vacation painting project is quickly turning into another gaming period/scale.
I am basing up the Cavalry boxset this week and I will post some pictures when I am done.

That's a very well put together group of figures: the Perry's work well and the painting suits them.
Thanks for putting this up |

Perry Cavalry boxset. As with the Infantry, still need matte spray and a guidon.
Group shot-
First half (Command stand on left)-
2nd half-
Some closeups of individual stands-
I went Hollywood and gave the commander a white horse!
I really liked this horse-
I'm really please with the overall look of this guy-
The great thing about these plastics is that they scream for you to do some conversions. I took one of the extra firing arms from the Infantry boxset and cut the musket out of the hands, then glued them to the Cavalryman's body and gave him a carbine. Pretty simple but a little tricky. I should have taken work in progress pictures but alas I am lazy! Maybe next time!
Another view-
Any comments welcome! |
